Philippines. The massive flooding is an
appeal of the Earth for us to start the big “C” - change.
Watching the news all
over the nation affected by flood it is evident that overly populated areas producing tons of garbage, urbanization and lack of planning were the most considerable factors that brought to us what we have
experienced for the past days.
Walking all over the city after the deluge, rubbish
was an eyesore. More often these were plastics commonly sando bags, tetra
packs, plastic bottles and styrophor materials which even a first grade pupil
could easily classify as non-biodegradable. After the wrath of flood also is a thick mud.
In our own little way we can all
help in minimizing the volume of trash by replacing plastic bags with reusable
canvass bags. When buying small items try to ask for brown paper bags instead of the roll bags made out of plastics.
We have seen the imposition of nature. We must not wait for nature to naturally balance our system for we will surely perish so do yourself a favor, make a difference by developing an attitude of responsibility and self-discipline.
