Computer Science: EXPOSED

Four of the top ten were computer science related majors. To name them all were Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics and Communications Engineering and Information Sciences and Systems.

A declining phenomena on the number of takers for the Degree in Computer Science were observed globally, This is too ironic, specially with the increase of informatics industry that demands computer science experts.

While most of us are techno savvy, majority don't have a very good understanding of what the discipline of computer science is all about.

Computer science is basically the study of anything that has to do with computer technology both hardware and software. Yes, this sounds pretty broad. Luckily , there are many, many sub-areas created under computer science and new areas are continually created as the field of study advances.

"The broader it gets the more job placement we get. Having a degree in Computer Science is a sure win. What is a one-time, four year investment compared to a lifetime of lucrative achievement?" - Lavhie, BSCS Batch 2002
